The best time to book is as early as you can. Our calendar fills up before Thanksgiving most years, and the most popular install dates go first. Booking in September or October gives you the most choice. Booking in November is still possible, but you'll want some flexibility on your date.
What the season looks like
- September–October: Booking and design. This is when you get the widest pick of install dates.
- November: Installs ramp up. Many homeowners want lights up before Thanksgiving so they're ready the moment the season starts.
- December: Your lights are on, and we handle any maintenance if a section goes out.
- January: We take everything down, typically mid-January as weather allows, and store it for next year.
Booking in November? Here's how to get on the calendar
- Be flexible on your date. Weekday installs are easier to fit in than weekends.
- Send photos with your quote request. We can usually price from photos, which skips a site visit and saves time.
- Decide on the design quickly. Warm white or multi-color, roofline only or wrapped trees too. Knowing what you want speeds everything up.
What to have ready when you ask for a quote
- Your address
- A few photos of the front of your home
- What you want lit: roofline, trees, bushes, wreaths, walkway
- Color preference
- Any HOA rules on exterior lighting

HOAs and businesses should book even earlier
Community entrances, monuments, and commercial properties usually need approvals, larger designs, and installs scheduled around residents or business hours. If that's you, start the conversation in late summer. See our HOA and community and commercial Christmas lighting pages for details.
